Greetings Music Fans......

....and welcome to Lunch Records, an artist-run independent record label without the "Indie" sound.

Formed in 1989 (as Breakfast Records) simply as a vehicle to release music from our friend's bands-the concept took off, and so did alternative music. By 1995, we got better at what we were doing, so we upgraded and changed the name from Breakfast to, you got it, Lunch Records. (Those first Breakfast 7"singles are going for big bucks on E-Bay now!)

Throughout the years, Lunch has always tried to help the artists navigate through the quagmire of the music industry while fostering a healthy breeding ground for new and exciting artists - thus creating a springboard for acts to move on to major labels, such as Orbit to A&M Records and Bleu to Aware Records/Columbia Records.

Today, Lunch is still all about the artists and their music. Each project is hand picked with a specific goal in mind uniquely tailored to the artists. Lunch doesn't follow industry signposts such as Sound Scan or BDS that have seemed to demolish all creativity and spirit of the artists, nor do we succumb to the game of commercial radio and mainstream press.

Instead, we spend our time making the best records possible (interesting concept, huh?) and then getting that music heard by the largest audiences possible. We hire the finest Independent companies, with liked-minded goals and aspirations-all within our means and without compromise.

With the Music Industry in a state of despair, we here at Lunch are proud to continue to grow by simply releasing some the finest Independent music over looked by major labels on a daily basis. Our success rate is not staggering, but is consistently positive and in the black. And that¹s just how we like it! For now, that is.

The journey of bringing great music-from the rehearsal space, to the stage, into the studio (and finally) - to your doorstep. That is our greatest reward!

So, enjoy the site, the music, and the fantastic artists who made it.

"God only knows what we'd be without you!"
